Last year I read the first book in this series, Luna: New Moon, and thoroughly enjoyed McDonald’s rich evocation of an individualistic society where there is no state intervention and everyone has to pay for air, food and water from the moment they step off the shuttle. Now it’s all gone pear-shaped, it’s riveting stuff…

Ha ha! I’ve just swung by your TT this week and you think MY tease is intense! If you are looking for a really interesting examination of individualistic society taken to an extreme, this duology is worth a read. AND it’s also a roller-coaster action adventure on the Moon.
Riveiting sounds like the right word for this one. Here’s mine:
“By 3:15 the next morning, Randeep was awake and washed and dressed and in the kitchen burning the previous day’s joss stick and lighting a fresh one. He said a quick prayer, warming his hands by the cooker flame, and set about getting what he needed: frying pans, rolling pin, butter and dough from the fridge, a cupful of flour from the blue barrel. He dusted the worktop with the flour and tore a small chunk from the cold brown dough, softening it between his palms. He had just over an hour to get sixty rotis done.” He is cooking for many immigrants, many illegal, all day laborers all living in the same apartment space.
This is from Sunjeer Sahota’s The Year of the Runawways, a 2015 publication. I have barely started.

I didn’t know about this weekly meme. I usually do the Top Ten Tuesdays, so maybe I should do Teaser Tuesdays when the TTT theme doesn’t fit my reading!
I really like this meme:)). Though I love reading everyone’s TTT as well.
I want to read this one (and the first one in the series too), but it’s been published in Polish, in the Feast of Imagination series, so I really WANT it in this edition. (Because their covers are so pretty… plus hardcover and good paper.) I guess it’ll have to wait a bit.
