Welcome to another helping of Covet the Covers. This week I’m featuring Rachel Aaron’s covers. Her book Last Dragon Standing made my Outstanding Reads of 2020 – but I’ve enjoyed the whole Heartstrikers series – see my reviews of Nice Dragons Finish Last, One Good Dragon Deserves Another, No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished and my mini-review of A Dragon of a Different Colour. I’ve also read and reviewed the first book in the spinoff series, Minimum Wage Magic and Garrison Girl, in addition to The Spirit Rebellion – Book 2 of the Eli Monpress series. Have you read any of these – and which is your favourite cover?
What wonderful covers. I’d buy them all for my LFL, and I bet they’d “go” immediately.
They certainly snag the eye – and I love the way each series has such a strong branding. While I love the Heartstriker books, I think I prefer the Eli Monpress covers:)).
These are great covers Sarah, but I am surprised you love them. The text overpowers the amazing images (I learned that from you). I would have loved it if the titles were smaller.
Lol… how well you know me, Carla:). I’m not mad about them, to be honest, exactly for the reason you’ve given. But I love the books – so I put them out there, anyway.
😁
I love these covers. The only one I’ve read is Garrison Girl, but I do want to try Minimum Wage Magic at some point😁
She is a fine writer. I want to read the other two books in that series, too…
I think the Minimum Wage Magic cover – and the other two in the series are my favourites from this week’s choices.
Lynn 😀
Yes – I think they overall work better than the Heartstriker series.
I love the cover for The Spirit War: it promises to showcase the kind of main character I enjoy reading… 🙂
Oh yes – I’ve only read the first two in the series, but she’s a talented writer with a great sense of pace and strong characters.
I’ve never seen these before, but I like quite a few of the covers.
If you are looking for something a bit quirky and well written – her books are worth checking out:)).
Thanks!
