Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.
This week’s Can’t-Wait offering – Forged – Book 11 of the Alex Verus series – release date – 3rd December 2021
#Brit-based urban fantasy #divination mage
BLURB: To protect his friends, Mage Alex Verus has had to change–and embrace his dark side. But the life mage Anne has changed too, and made a bond with a dangerous power. She’s going after everyone she’s got a grudge against–and it’s a long list.
In the meantime, Alex has to deal with his arch-enemy, Levistus. The Council’s death squads are hunting Alex as well as Anne, and the only way for Alex to stop them is to end his long war with Levistus and the Council, by whatever means necessary. It will take everything Alex has to stay a step ahead of the Council and stop Anne from letting the world burn.
Bonus is – we don’t have long to wait for this one, as it’s released tomorrow😊. I have been catching up with this series, which I love – so I’m really pleased that this next slice of the adventure is coming up. Especially after Alex’s revamp in the last book… Anyone else got this one on their wish list?
Wow, book 11? This is one series I’ve had my eye on, but with 11 books I probably won’t tackle it. I’ll look forward to your review though😁
It’s a really interesting series – the protagonist is a divination mage, so he can see into the future accurately – for about 30 seconds to a minute, depending on how busy it is. And after that the possible alternative futures start dividing… It’s really cool:))
I’ve heard such good things about this series!
It really is a fabulous series – it gets a bit darker as it goes on, but I’m still loving it:)).
That series is new to me. Sounds interesting. I love good urban fantasy. Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you, Laura:) I have loved Alex’s journey so far, so I’m looking forward to discovering what happens next…
I love a good urban fantasy and one set in the UK makes it even better. This is definitely going on my TBR list!
I hope you get a chance to pick up the first book and see if this is a good fit for you, Louise:). Some of the Brit-based fantasy is great fun…
I actually started this series and enjoyed it, maybe read the first three, perhaps four, but elevent books. I’m so far behind. Doomed. I’m doomed.
Lynn 😀
Oh, I know the feeling, Lynn! I became aware last year that I had started far too many series – and just let them drift. So I am really trying hard to COMPLETE a number of them. I will be writing a blog post about my progress during the year in due course…
Glad you didn’t have to wait long! I have heard such great things about this series.
Yes – I’ve now completed this one – just have to write up my review…
I am anxious to give this series a try. I hope you love this one, Sarah. I hope you and your family are well!
Yes, thank you, Wendy:) We are all fine. I hope you and yours are also okay. And that at some stage, you are able to give this series a go. Take care!
