Tuesday Treasures – 20 #Brainfluffbookblog #LightintheLockdown

Standard

In this week’s Tuesday Treasures, I’ve taken a series of photos last Saturday in the garden, when we had a bright sunny day. I’m surprised at just how many flowers are still flowering amongst the seed heads, now that winter is properly getting going. That said, it was a mild November – if very rainy…

    • Thank you, Tammy. I’m used to seeing the rosemary and mahonia in flower, but it’s way too early for the catkins to be starting and as for the summer bedding still doing it’s stuff… Climate change is definitely a thing!

    • You’re right, Wanda. But I also think it goes to show just how very mild it’s been so far. Sadly, looking at the forecast, I think it’s all about to come to an abrupt end!

    • Thank you, Maddalena – I got quite a shock when I had a wander around the garden and saw those intrepid flowers – because from my kitchen window, I’d assumed I was looking at bright orange autumn leaves!

    • It’s a phormium – and that’s the seedhead… It flowers in May/June and fills the garden with a marvellous perfume like lillies. But I also think the seedhead looks beautiful, which is why I snapped it:))

    • Yes! I found it fascinating to discover the seedheads alongside so many things that are still flowering – and it’s just bizarre that the catkins are appearing so very early!
