I’ve recently returned from a two-week writing retreat in Bexhill where I was writing alongside my lovely sister in law, who is in the final stages of her thesis on the perceptions of despair within the monastic community of the Middle Ages. Meanwhile, I was cavorting across the skies with grumpy old Castellan, while writing Picky Eaters Part 2. And what a place to imagine a flying dragon! The sea and sky were just amazing and so inspirational…

Its relaxing just looking at these photos😁 It sounds like you and your sister in law had a wonderfully productive retreat!
It was so very special – it was wonderful. And has to be one of my favourite places in the world…
Looks like an awesome spot to write!
Oh, it’s magical, Becky.
What a lovely place! And I can very easily picture a flying dragon there, particularly with the background of those two beautiful sunsets in the second and third picture… 🙂
I do seriously think that some of the pictures will look stunning with Castellan flying out of. The pics I took of the amazing sunset on our last night are extraordinary… Which I still haven’t shown.
Then I look forward to seeing more! 🙂
I just came back from the beach myself – I miss the sun, sand and surf already!
It’s an amazing place to be… I can stand and watch the waves run up the beach for a very long time. So relaxing! And the smell and the sound of it… Wonderful!
I’m so used to the white sand beaches we normally visit that the pebble beaches are a bit startling but so pretty. I love all the pictures! What a beautiful place.
Thank you, Katherine – glad you love the pictures:)). Yes – shingle makes a wonderful clattering sound as the waves hit it and they catch lots of sea shells, too… Bexhill is my favourite place!
I love the sea – I could just look at it for hours on end. I love these writing retreats that you go on – they must be so good.
Lynn 😀
Oh, each one seems to be better than the last – and this one was the best of all… Particularly as my marvellous, very clever sister in law is intending to hand in her thesis in December. But what a wonderful set of memories we have to treasure!
So lovely. I want to visit someday but no traveling at all right now with covid.
I think we all have our travelling plans on hold. My son is living in L.A. at present and I would have been seriously considering flying out to see him – but for the current situation:(.
Wonderful Photos! Who wouldn’t be inspired being there?
Thank you, Jennie – it was truly inspirational…
It was! You’re welcome, Sarah.
Oh, for those colors of the sky dancing upon the sea! xxxxx
I managed to take some amazing pics while I was away…
