Himself and I haven’t been away together for any kind of holiday since 2018, and were determined to get away for a few days to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, especially as a family party was impossible. So we were delighted to find vacancies at a good hotel in Ashdown Forest of Winnie the Pooh fame.

Sounds like a wonderful holiday and it had to be magical being in the Winnie the Pooh area!
Oh, it was:). We really landed on our feet by picking it as a place to go to.
That’s so fun when things just work out like that! I’m glad you had a great time! ❤️
Bless you.xxx
What a lovely place😁 It looks like you stayed in a castle, and the grounds are beautiful😁
It was built in the Victorian era, so isn’t quite as old as it appears – but it’s quite a place. And I didn’t take any pics of the converted chapel!
Are you sure that hotel does not come straight out of a fantasy setting? 😉
I’m not sure – especially when we got lost in the enchanted forest!!!
What a pleasant break!
It was:)).
That looks like a beautiful place to get away! Also, happy anniversary! 😀
Thank you, Mogsy:)). And it was really lovely…
Oh how absolutely beautiful! Looks like a wonderful holiday.
Thank you, Katherine – it was!
Belated anniversary wishes. Looks like you had a fabulous getaway in a most beautiful spot.
Lynn 😀
Oh, it was! It feels like a bit like an amazing dream now – and it was only a week ago we were about to have our adventure in the forest when we got lost…
How lovely! To be in such a beautiful spot, especially connected to Winnie the Pooh, must have been perfect.
Oh, it was, Jennie:)).
Beautiful! Did you play a game of Pooh Sticks? Did you catch Eeyore floating by? Oh, I do miss a good forest. xxxxxx
We got thoroughly and properly lost in the forest – which was beautiful… There’s a small stream in the New Forest where Himself’s family all used to play Pooh Sticks, complete with a bridge.
What a perfect place for memories. Did you ever bring the grands there, too?
We haven’t done, yet. It’s a distance away from where we live, much nearer to our parents. But we now have to be very careful. We can’t break a car journey with the little ones, by going to visit great-granny and great-grandpa, anymore… Hopefully, we’ll be able to take them in the future.
