Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by The Purple Booker.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This is my choice of the day:
Immortal Creators – Book 2 in the Immortal Writers series by Jill Bowers
40% “Have you read her books?” Dylan challenged.
“No,” Scott admitted, “but I don’t have to. I’ve met her, and that was plenty of insight into her head for me. The last thing I want is to let her talk at me for eighty thousand words uninterrupted.” He shuddered at the thought.
BLURB: Sixteen-year-old author Scott Beck never wanted to be an Immortal Writer—not after his father was killed on a mission attempting to dispatch his own villain. Scott blames Shakespeare and the Writers for his father’s untimely demise, but no amount of hatred will prevent the oncoming alien attack, which has come over to reality straight from Scott’s book.
Scott is forced to collect his characters—an Air Force colonel, two of the best pilots on Earth, and an alien enthusiast from the year 2134—and defeat the alien king before Earth is obliterated by his ships. But an odd sickness Scott calls his Writing Fever might just kill him before the aliens have the chance.
This one starts with a bang as Scott finds he is an Immortal Writer and that the lethal alien armada featured in his book is on the point of actually invading Earth… So far, this is proving to be an eventful, enjoyable YA read.
What a clever idea, sound like a fun read😁 Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome, Tammy:). I am finding it an enjoyable read so far…
I agree. A clever idea and I need to explore this series. Watch a spectacular cover too!
Yes – the first cover featuring a dragon is even better! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Laura and was very much taken by surprise at the ending…
Sarah! I’m slowly starting to catch up with my blog! Slowly! But I’m getting there. I’ve been scrambling to just comment back on my posts and haven’t been able to blog hop but I’m finding time here and there!
Hope you have been well? Looking forward to catching up sometime soon!
I have actually read this one but I found I really loved the first book more. Did you read that one?
Love this feature!
Hey Di – how lovely to hear from you:)) Oh, I know the feeling – I’ve gone away for a fews and found I’m buried in comments and blogs to catch up on! Yes, I’m fine – busy writing a second trilogy which I hopefully can publish in the first half of next year and getting to know my latest grandchild:)
I am enjoying it – but it hasn’t pinged off the page in quite the way I expected it to… and I’ve read some rave reviews about the first one, which looks amazing. I may well see if I can track it down:)
Interesting idea about things from books coming over into reality. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. My Teaser
Yes – it’s been a really entertaining read so far:)
I can think of a number of people I wouldn’t want to give that kind of word count.
I know… I can too, Alice – which is why I chose this quote:).
Another intense read! Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “THE LIES WE TOLD”
That’s an interesting teaser! I haven’t heard of this one! Thanks for visiting my Teaser post earlier!
You’re very welcome:). Have a great week.
That 40% made me laugh. I don’t think I’ve met anyone who I would want to talk 80,000 uninterrupted words at me either!
Yes – there were some enjoyable moments of snark between the brother and that was one of the best… I was a bit pole-axed by the ending, which wasn’t at all what I was expecting!
What a good concept – and I like the cover too. Hope this one works out well for you.
Lynn 😀
Yes, it was an eventful adventure with one heck of a twist at the end.
Sounds like a good one. Great review.
It is, Rae:)
