Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.
This week’s Can’t Wait offering – The River Keepers by Michael F. Stewart

What would you do if your sister turned into a skunk? How about a mouse? Or a frog? Would you want to be a snake? Have you ever wished to swim like an actual fish? Wouldn’t you worry that a snapping turtle might take a bite out of you?
In The River Keepers, two sisters must rise to meet an unexpected challenge. It’s a story infused with the magic and drama outside their backdoor — perhaps yours, too.
This one sounds entertaining. I’m always a sucker for shapeshifting tales – and isn’t that cover gorgeous? By the look of it, Stewart is an experienced author with a number of books to his name, so I’m looking forward to tucking into this one, which is due to be published on 1st December by The Publishing House.
Hope you enjoy – I like shapeshifter stories too so I look forward to seeing what you make of this one.
Lynn 😀
Thank you Lynn – I’m really looking foward to this one. I enjoy well-written children’s fiction as much of it is excellent quality and every bit as gripping as its adult equivalent. I’m hoping this proves to be one of those gems:))
This book sounds very fun. I hope ye like it. If ye do then this one will go on the list.

Yes… a brilliant cover sucks me in every time:)x
Shapeshifting stories are indeed very interesting. I hope you enjoy it.
Happy readings!

Thank you, Thannya:)
This sounds like fun, although that mouse is too close to the snake!!
Or maybe not…:)
Ok. I like the premise of this one and it sounds like a good read but I’d have to read it on my Kindle because I can’t look at the snake – YUK!
It is rather mesmorising, isn’t it? To be honest, it was that snake that drew me to the book in the first place:)
This book sounds like so much fun! Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thank you, Ashley – have a great reading week!
Oh, I want this book, Sarah. It sounds so fun! I’m sharing a bunch of children’s books this week, from early readers to middle grade. I just love reading them:)
I do, too:). Invariably the quality of the writing of the best of them is top-notch…
I love books with siblings, and then there will be shape shifting too. Sounds like it could be a winner.
That’s what I thought:)
Oh you totally have my attention with this one! A skunk???
I know! How cool is that?
This does sound a treat! I, too, am a sucker for magic–especially when that magic is right in one’s backyard. 😉
Yes – it sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? I’m really looking forward to tucking into this one:)
I love the sound of this one, Sarah! You always feature the most interesting sounding books. I like books involving shapeshifting too. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention! Have a great weekend.
Thank you Wendy – I hope you, too, have a great weekend:)
