Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by The Purple Booker.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This is my choice of the day:
The Fallen Kingdom – Book 3 of The Falconer series by Elizabeth May
p. 64 I turn, expecting to see the old crystal in the ruins of Derrick’s city, the crystal Lonnrach wanted so badly that he’d destroyed the pixie city to find it. What’s there instead makes me suck in a shocked breath.
Where the bloody hell did that come from?
BLURB: Aileana Kameron, resurrected by ancient fae magic, returns to the world she once knew with no memory of her past and with dangerous powers she struggles to control. Desperate to break the curse that pits two factions of the fae against each other in a struggle that will decide the fate of the human and fae worlds, her only hope is hidden in an ancient book guarded by the legendary Morrigan, a faery of immense power and cruelty. To save the world and the people she loves, Aileana must learn to harness her dark new powers even as they are slowly destroying her.
I loved the first two books in this gripping trilogy – see my review of The Falconer – and so have been waiting impatiently for this final slice of the adventure. And so far, it has started with a bang and continued building the tension. I have no idea where May is taking the story, but I’ve settled in for the ride…
Enjoy! I really liked the first book as well, and I look forward to binge reading the rest of the trilogy soon now that all the books are out.
I’m now halfway through this one – and it is every bit as gripping and epic as the other two books… I’ll look forward to reading what you think of them in due course:)
Haven’t heard of this series but it does sound very tempting.
It’s a fabulous series, Ali – puts me in mind of Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone…
I still haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Really must, I have the whole series.
Ooo… I highly recommend that one – it’s one of my all-time favourite fantasy series.
I know. I really must read it. There are just so many books and not enough time.
*sigh* I know THAT feeling…
Oh yes! It’s a great series – I loved it and I’d be very interested to discover what you think of it.
She is a new author to me. Sounds so good. Happy reading. 😁
I really highly recommend this one:). Have a great reading week!
I’m afraid I’ve become part of the “instant” age — I can’t start trilogies unless they’re all out. This sounds interesting and since they’re all out, I might venture into what would be a new author for me. Here’s my link for today — intro and teaser from Paulette Mahurin’s The Seven Year Dress: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-1xk
I think that’s an intelligent response – I know I’ve been waiting for this particular book with some impatient anticipation… I do recommend that series. It’s great fun and quite gritty.
Another new series for me to explore. Great hook with that teaser. What is it???
My TT from Taking Out The Trailer Trash
Ah… that would be telling:)). This really is a brilliant series, Laura – quite violent and gritty, but with an amazing protagonist.
I wonder what he saw? Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
You’re welcome, Laurel – have a great week:)).
The Fallen Kingdom sounds like a great book! I love your teaser choice as well! 🙂 http://shoshireads.weebly.com/home/teaser-tuesday4566869
I loved this – it was my favourite of the three – I love where the author takes the story. Can’t wait to see what you make of it.
Lynn 😀
I’m about halfway through and so far I’m rapt – the storyline is amazing as I never know where it’s going next.
I really enjoyed this one too. My teaser this week is from Some Kind of Hero by Suzanne Brockmann. Happy reading!
Thank you, Kathy – it’s always very encouraging to find out when other respected book bloggers enjoy the book I’m currently reading!
AHHHHHH I can’t wait to read The Fallen Kingdom! 😀 It’s going to be a couple more weeks, since I have a “reading plan” I try to follow, but oh my goodness I’m so nervous and excited to get to it. *lol* What do you think of it so far?
It comes very highly recommended so far… I’m loving it, Sara:).
Magic, magic… after all I’ve heard of this writer, I’m sure if it were in a SF setting I’ll read it straight away. I’ve decided to give it a try, though, just to read something outside my comfort zone 😀
There is a steampunk vibe running through the first book in particular. I’m fascinated to discover how you get on with this series, Steph:)
That’s a great teaser! I really want to check out this series. 🙂
I highly recommend it – I’ve now finished this one and it is a wonderful read and an amazing finish to the series.
I definitely need to read this series – it’s been on my list for a good few years now! I hope you’re enjoying it 😀
Oh yes – I’ll be reviewing it tomorrow… It’s a great end to a cracking series, which I highly recommend.
