This is my choice of the day:

I’ve got a real taste for desert-based fantasy at the moment. While suffering withdrawal symptoms for The Rebel Sands series, I thought I’d tuck into this promising offering. And I haven’t been disappointed. It is quite different, but still engrossing and well written with a wonderfully vivid world. An ideal read on a dreary winter day!

Well I found myself longing for more desert-based fantasy and can really recommend this:).
I love the cover for Twelve Kings. I’ve had this on my TBR list for ages, and your teaser makes me want to read it right now lol. I just finished Rebel of the Sands and can’t wait to read Traitor to the Throne. There’s definitely something addictive about desert-based fantasy isn’t there!

Oh, the Rebel of the Sands series is great fun – thought I thought Traitor to the Throne even better than ‘Rebel’. This is another storming desert-based fantasy, but on a more epic scale.
This is a new to me title — the teaser made me smaile.

I do highly recommend it – a very detailed and vivid world:).
It’s hard to keep something from someone that knows you well. That cover is eye catching.

Given the weather I could do with some desert heat right now, I like the intro here. Intriguing.

We got the fantasy series by Tschowski (sp?) yesterday, and he’s already into it. We had to get it from A&M university in Texas and he can keep it until June. It is thick; he may need that much time!
Here’s my teaser from a children’s book on adult subject, Sea Change by Frank Viva. It’s almost like a graphic novel as far as the illustrations/text go (sometimes the text curls and swirls around and makes shapes) and is a fascinating read:
I am picking up where I left off reading at the beginning of chapter 10…
“Uncle Earl was wearing a pair of wire-framed reading glasses and sitting in a well-used leather chair. He was reading a tattered book by the light of a dim lamp. He looked so different there, away from his boat. More like the kind of Uncle you’d tell a secret to than the kind who’d made you shovel rotten mackerel. There were books all around him, and as my eyes adjusted to the light, I could see that every wall had a bookcase and they were all stuffed with books.”
This is a coming of age story for a twelve year old boy; there is a girl involved, a girl who has a secret.
It is an interesting book.
