Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylordaughterofsmokeandbone

This fantasy offering was recommended by Sara Letourneau and so far, I’m thoroughly enjoying it…

p. 285 He achieved invisibility. It was a triumph that would have garnered him fame and the emperor’s highest honors, and it gave him a cold satisfaction to keep it to himself.

BLURB: In general Karou has managed to keep her two lives in balance. On the one hand she’s a seventeen-year-old art student in Prague, on the other, errand-girl to a monstrous creature who is the closest thing she has to family. Raised half in our world, half in ‘Elsewhere’, she has never understood Brimstone’s dark work – buying teeth from hunters and murderers – nor how she came into his keeping. She is a secret even to herself, plagued by the sensation that she isn’t whole.

    • Thank you for checking out my site, Yvo – and I thoroughly recommend Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I’m intrigued by your offering, especially as Himself is going through a whodunit phase.

  1. Nice extract! I’m hoping to start the trilogy soon – I’ve heard so many amazing things about Laini Taylor and now it’s complete I won’t have to wait on release dates!

    • Thank you for swinging by:) I enjoyed the intro and TT on your site – Clive Cussler is one of Himself’s regular authors and I have to say up to now, I haven’t been particularly tempted, but that extract was a good one!
