This is a regular weekly activity Jenn has set running over at A Daily Rhythm.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
This fantasy offering was recommended by Sara Letourneau and so far, I’m thoroughly enjoying it…
p. 285 He achieved invisibility. It was a triumph that would have garnered him fame and the emperor’s highest honors, and it gave him a cold satisfaction to keep it to himself.
BLURB: In general Karou has managed to keep her two lives in balance. On the one hand she’s a seventeen-year-old art student in Prague, on the other, errand-girl to a monstrous creature who is the closest thing she has to family. Raised half in our world, half in ‘Elsewhere’, she has never understood Brimstone’s dark work – buying teeth from hunters and murderers – nor how she came into his keeping. She is a secret even to herself, plagued by the sensation that she isn’t whole.
oh I LOVE this book. Currently reading the last in the trilogy. Laini Taylor is seriously a rock star – her writing is breathtaking. Thanks for stopping by my teaser 🙂

Thank you for dropping by and commenting Keely. I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far. It’s always great to get another recommendation though:)
I have been wanting to start this series for ages! I’m glad to hear you are enjoying it.
Happy reading! Here’s my teaser of The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas.
Thank you for checking out my site, Yvo – and I thoroughly recommend Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I’m intrigued by your offering, especially as Himself is going through a whodunit phase.
😀 😀 😀 😀
I think that says about everything I could say right now. 😀
It is great to see how many people have read it and loved it:). You see what I mean about the fabulous cover, though…
It IS a pretty cover, yes. The US version is different http://saraletourneauwriter.com/2015/06/08/recent-reads-daughter-of-smoke-and-bone-laini-taylor/), but it also has feathers – and of course, there are reasons for that certain shade of blue. 😉
Oh yes! It’s quite different, but every bit as lovely:).
Nice extract! I’m hoping to start the trilogy soon – I’ve heard so many amazing things about Laini Taylor and now it’s complete I won’t have to wait on release dates!
Yes, I’m really looking foward to reading the others in the series – this start of the series is really enjoyable:)
That’s great news!
Great quote. I’ve had that book on my TBR for ages but haven’t gotten around to reading yet. Hope you continue to enjoy it 🙂
Great Teaser don’t forget to stop by my blogs to check out My TT but check on both blogs I own for different teasers Echoing Books (Blog I co-own) and First Dream of Books (My Personal blog)
I wouldn’t mind having the gift of invisibility. Could be the proverbial fly on the wall. LOL

I still have to try this series, but I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog earlier 🙂
I have been meaning to start this series but just haven’t been able to fit it in around the review books. My YA teaser this week comes from The Mystery of Hollow Places by Rebecca Podos. Happy reading!
Good teaser – I think this book is on my TBR list (which is a very very long list 🙂 )
Thank you for swinging by:) I enjoyed the intro and TT on your site – Clive Cussler is one of Himself’s regular authors and I have to say up to now, I haven’t been particularly tempted, but that extract was a good one!
Between cover, teaser, and blurb, I’m sold. Here’s my TT: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-18l
Oh nice teaser!! Very intriguing!
Thanks for visiting my teaser!
That sounds a great book :-). Thanks for stopping by “A Spirit of Healing” 🙂
